Distillery Facts:: Ballechin distillery operated between 1810 and 1927 and was one of seven original farm distilleries operating in Perthshire. Out of these seven, Edradour is the only one remaining. Since 2002, Edradour have resurrected the Ballechin brand of whisky.

Description

Edradour Ballechin Double Cask 8 Year Old Highland Single Malt Scotch Whisky is a combination of unpeated and peated single malt drawn from one sherry cask from Edradour and three Ballechin peated bourbon casks, which were matured for at least 8 years. This combination delivers lots of red fruits, dark caramel, butterscotch and wafts of peat smoke.

70cl at 46% alc./vol.

TASTING NOTES

APPEARANCE

Medium mahogany

NOSE

Coffee cake, cooked apples and a hint of baked earth spiciness.

PALATE

Caramelised dates, more earthy smoke, strawberry bonbons, walnuts.

FINISH

Subtly meaty malt grows on the finish.
