In 1191, monks from the Order of Tiron in France travelled to Scotland, bringing with them their knowledge, their faith and their traditions, founding Lindores Abbey on the banks of the Tay.
Centuries later, when Drew McKenzie Smith founded Lindores Abbey Distillery, they wanted to honour that historic connection and celebrate the centuries-old ties to Thiron.
To do this, the distillery have commissioned casks made from oak grown in the forests around Thiron-Gardais. These casks bring a distinctive character to this whisky while also deepening the sense of place and history in every drop.
This 2025 edition has been matured in Old Forester Bourbon, Rejuvenated Red Wine and Thiron Virgin Oak casks. Thiron 25 brings forward a wealth of depth, character and complexity.
For every tree that is felled to create a cask, new trees are planted, ensuring that this link is both meaningful and sustainable for generations to come.
