Old Ballantruan owes its name to an exceptional source of the purest waters, the Ballantruan Spring, nestling in the Cromdale Hills in the Speyside region, close to the Tomintoul Distillery. This single malt is distilled using heavily peated malted barley, giving a warming "peat-reek" character.
