Tamnavulin German Red Wine Cask is part of a series of red wine cask finishes from Tamnavulin, this expression has been aged in ex-bourbon barrels before spending a finishing period in German Pinot Noir casks. The result is a soft and fruity single malt, with notes of figs, plums and honey, followed by a pleasingly dry finish.
The distillery is situated in the rural village of Tomnavilin on the banks of the Corrie Stream and the River Livet. They draw their water from an underground spring in the Easterton Hills. This water is formed by snowmelt from the surrounding mountains and is naturally filtered through ancient limestone rock.
