Glenfiddich 15 Year Old, a single malt Scotch whisky, is crafted using a Solera Vat, which imparts its distinctive warm and spicy flavours. The whisky undergoes a unique aging process in European oak sherry casks and new oak casks, resulting in a mellowed character. The Solera Vat, a large oak tun inspired by the sherry bodegas of Spain and Portugal, plays a pivotal role in this process. Unlike traditional vats, the Solera Vat is never emptied and maintained at a constant level of half-full whisky since 1998. This innovative approach reflects the curiosity and pioneering spirit of the Grant Family.
