The Port of Leith Distillery have invested time identifying a specific, high-quality producer in Portugal whose casks they will use to mature their whisky. However, they thought their liquid should be savoured and enjoyed for now.
The casks have been sourced from Martha’s Family Estate, dating back to the early 18th century. This particular expression has aged for six to eight years, offering up rich fruit notes with nutty elements developing underneath.
Available in a 750ml bottle, at 19% abv.
TASTING NOTES
Intense plum and prune richness, with lighter hints of strawberry and blackcurrant later on. Almond, cinnamon, a touch of oak in the background.
Serving Suggestions
Traditionally, Port is served at room temperature, or slightly chilled, towards the end of a meal with cheese.
