One of the original farm distilleries of Speyside, The Macallan became legal in 1824 when Alexander Reid obtained one of the new licences issued after the passing of the 1823 Excise Act.

The Macallan Sherry Oak Cask 12 Years Old is a cornerstone of the Sherry Oak range. This 12-year-old whisky has been predominantly matured in European Oloroso sherry-seasoned oak casks for a minimum of 12 years. The result is a rich and complex whisky with notes of spice, dried fruit, hints of vanilla, and a natural golden colour.

Available in a 700ml bottle, at 40% abv.

TASTING NOTES

APPEARANCE

Rich Gold

NOSE

Dried fruit, candied citrus peel and oak, with notes of ginger and nutmeg.

TASTE

Raisins and sultanas with ginger syrup giving way to sweet cinnamon spice and a hint of vanilla.

FINISH

Long with oak and warming ginger.

    I bought a couple of bottles of MacAllan for my dad and my uncle who both drink their fair share of malt whiskey. The feedback I got was all positive from both. I’d just like to say thank you to Steve who answered a few queries for me when I made the order which was much appreciated. Will definitely order again in the future.
